1.THE REOPENING:
The church of Samsun has had moments of closure, due to a lack of priests as we see in the historical of catholic church in Samsun.
At the end of 2023, in the good collaboration with Bishop of Anatoria Vicariat and the Marist family, the latter accepted this mission to reopen that church in Samsun known as Mater Dolorosa kilisesi. The Marist Congregations who working in this Church are: The Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary (SMSM) and Marist Fathers (SM).
Now the church has restarted to welcome people who come for prayer and/or for visitation. we give thanks to God who has given the grace to reopen his holy house.

2. THE FIRST HOLY WEEK AFTER REOPENING
The reopening of the Catholic Church of Samsun has allowed us to be in union with the whole Catholic Church in the world during the different liturgical seasons of the year.
We started the Lent season with the Ash Wednesday Mass. During this time there is the station of the Cross every Friday in the Church.
The last week of the Lent Season, there is the Holy Week which prepares for the Feast of feasts, the Easter of Christ. The Sunday which opens this Holy Week: Palm Sunday, we have had a lot of Christians.
It was a great joy for us to receive such a large number of Christians for the first time that we are here.
